Where We Stay: Comfort, Beauty, and Care in Rio and Búzios
Our accommodations are an essential part of the experience — offering space to restore, reflect, and connect.
For the first six nights of our gay men group travel experience in Brazil, we will stay at the five-star Sheraton Grand Rio Hotel & Resort — a beachfront property with direct access to a private stretch of sand along the South Atlantic.
Set between Barra da Tijuca and Ipanema, the resort offers sweeping ocean views framed by dramatic mountains — a setting that feels both expansive and deeply grounding.
The landscaped grounds open directly onto a private white-sand beach. Morning walks, ocean swims, and quiet time overlooking the water become part of the rhythm of our days in Rio.
Two pools, generous outdoor spaces, and direct beach access provide room to relax between excursions and gatherings.
Rooms feature private balconies with either ocean or mountain views, offering a comfortable place to unwind after a full day of exploration and connection.
Participants may choose a Shared Room or Private Room option, depending on preference. Each space serves as a quiet retreat between group activities and evenings out in the city.
Fitness Center
The resort includes a well-equipped fitness center with cardio machines, ellipticals, free weights, and strength training equipment for those who wish to maintain their routine while traveling. Sauna and steam facilities provide an additional opportunity to relax and restore.
Shine Spa
The Shine Spa (additional fee) offers a full range of wellness treatments designed to support relaxation and restoration. Guests can choose from a variety of massage therapies and body treatments, all delivered in a tranquil space overlooking the ocean.
Dining at the Sheraton blends relaxed beachfront flavors with polished international cuisine — from Brazilian classics to contemporary fine-dining options. Mornings begin with a generous breakfast, often enjoyed with ocean or garden views — an easy, luxurious start to the day in Rio.
For our final two nights of gay men group travel in Brazil, we plan to stay at the Abracadabra Boutique Hotel or a similar nearby boutique hotel in Búzios, Brazil, overlooking the calm waters of Armação Bay.
Búzios offers a distinct shift in pace. Cobblestone streets, whitewashed buildings, and a slower coastal rhythm create space to soften and integrate the week’s experiences. Perched above the harbor yet just a short walk from Rua das Pedras and nearby beaches, this setting allows us to step away from Rio’s energy and settle into something more intimate and restorative.
This thoughtfully curated property offers an atmosphere that feels peaceful and refined. Panoramic views stretch across the bay, and the infinity pool terrace invites unhurried moments — a place to gather at sunset or sit quietly with the sea breeze.
Rooms are designed for comfort and ease, supporting rest, reflection, and meaningful connection before returning home.
The on-site restaurant blends Brazilian and Mediterranean influences, often enjoyed with sweeping water views. Evenings here tend to feel relaxed and conversational — less about spectacle and more about shared presence.
